With approximately 400 elementary and high school districts across Montana participating in its self-funded and self-administered workers’ compensation pool, in addition to 147 of the state’s school districts in its self-insured property and liability pool, the Montana Schools Group Insurance Authority (MSGIA) sought a technology-based system to dramatically improve its outdated, disparate claims data capture, analytical and reporting tools.

When MSGIA turned to Origami Risk, a leading risk and insurance Software as a Service technology firm, they found a solution that delivered the robust automation and data management capabilities they required, setting the stage for even greater enhancements to their workflows. Working with Origami, which has a culture built around collaboration and client focus, MSGIA has automated workflows and critical policy and claim communication in ways that have vastly improved their underwriting capabilities, while also strengthening claims management, loss control and related member services.

At the same time, MSGIA provides real-time access to critical claim reporting tools and resources, and loss control information to member school districts throughout the state. Today, with the implementation of Origami’s technology and ongoing collaboration with Origami’s team of professionals, MSGIA is driving further innovation and continuous improvement across its risk operations. This enables MSGIA's risk management team and members to become more productive, efficient and effective.
